Burke Lake Park is a public park located in Burke, Virginia, and enclosing Burke Lake. The Fairfax County public park is owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA). It was built on land that had been purchased by the federal government in the 1950s for an international airport, before the site of Dulles Airport was chosen as a replacement.〔 〕 Many activities and facilities are offered by the park. The Golf Club (at the north entrance on Ox Rd) includes an 18-hole par 3 golf course, a driving range, and a clubhouse with snack bar. The main (middle entrance, $10/veh.) leads to the Ranger Station, camp store, & Nature Center, miniature train, carousel, outdoor volleyball courts, open fields, disc golf, horse shoe pits, an ice cream parlor, picnic areas with grills, 3 playgrounds, amphitheater, miniature golf course, camp grounds, miles of trails, and marina. Nominal fees are required for boat rentals, camping, carousel, train and other activities. The southmost Ox Rd entrance is to a second, public boat launch/ramp.
